Oxidized Bitumen

An hero of our modern world, bitumen is an integral part of the society we live in today. It is one of the most fundamental construction materials in modern society and has a wide range of uses and applications. A crucial component of the asphalt we use to build roads, which offer important connections for keeping societies and businesses mobile across vast distances. It’s also used to create flexible, water-repellent, membranes that go into roofs or other building structures as well as many different and diversified industrial uses. The reality is that bitumen is a widely versatile material that forms one of the key materials for building and maintaining the infrastructure we live in. The bitumen we use in our roads is refined from carefully selected crude oils that wich our produced. A variety of different production methods produce different kinds of bitumen and allow the manufacturer to produce specific characteristics in the bitumen that directly offer help towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goal. So We transport and handling of bituminous products. It has many applications, including road construction, hydropower projects, roofing, flooring, mastics, oil and gas industry and electrical applications. The main advantages are high durability, high flexibility, completely water resistant, chemical stability

There are many ways to produce bitumen with the quality that the customer likes, but according to European standards, we do not use any method to reach that level, and the product must be subject to quality control of production lines and standardized methods. Pass according to European standards. One of the approved methods is oxidation. Passing air through bitumen at elevated temperature can be used to alter its physical properties for certain commercial applications. That obtains from the blowing hot air with a temperature of 200 to 300 degree Celsius to the penetration grade bitumen in the reactor of the refinery. Hydrogen atoms of bitumen react with oxygen atoms of air when heated with hot air in the reactor. Then it generates some steam that should be removed from the oxidation chamber. Consequently, the bitumen remains.

The degree of oxidation can range from very small, often referred to as air-rectification, or semi-blowing, which only slightly modifies the bitumen properties, through to “full” blowing, whereby the properties of the bitumen are significantly different to penetration grade bitumen. Nomenclature and grading for the oxidized bitumen products are based on a combination of the temperature at which the bitumen reaches certain “softness” when being heated up as expressed by the ring and ball softening point test, and the penetration value. The asphaltene in this bitumen is polymerized due to blowing air and makes this bitumen rubbery. Based on this rubber property, this bitumen is called Rubberized Bitumen. This type of bitumen has many grades including which can be seen in the box below. These numbers show the softening point and penetration grade.

Our team tries to present high-quality blown bitumen at a suitable price. We have exported this type of Bitumen to more than 40 countries all over the world.
